Auxiliary Services provides services and products needed for everyday life by the Corps of Cadets, Faculty, Staff, Alumni, and outside constituents.
These services include meals and snacks, uniforms and accessories, weapons, textbooks and sundry items, tailoring and cleaning of uniforms, haircuts, and mail distribution.

VMI Dining makes eating a piece of cake! If you are looking to have a meal between classes in the Mess Hall or grab a combo or a cup of coffee in the PX food court , VMI Dining doesn’t disappoint.

Coatee, Blouse, Overcoat and Duty Jacket: Must be taken to appropriate bin in breezeway outside of Uniform Pick-up room. Wool pants may also be placed in these bins.
Bags not thrown out on truck can be taken to the 100 level of Richardson Hall no later than 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Bags thrown out later will be processed the following week.
ACU's and Travel Suits may be thrown out in your laundry bag. Make sure all ACU's have your laundry number in them. ROTC ACU's should have your laundry number in the tag before throwing out. Take all name tags, belts and patches off of your ACU's before throwing out.

Uniforms are behind your number and under your number in bins. Bag Bins 1501 - 1800 are located on the 200 level.
All lost and found items are taken to the Laundry Office. If you have questions regarding this, please contact Beth McGrath in the Laundry Office. If office staff is unable to assist, a supervisor is available Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. There is a lost and found table located in the bag room on the 300 level for laundry items that do not have a laundry number on them.

The VMI mail room serves as the equivalent of a U. S. Post Office for cadets as it receives and distributes their personal mail and packages as well as collecting and processing their outgoing mail and receives/distributes and collects/processes the official mail of the Institute.
The mail room has a customer service window for cadet customers open Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. -2:15 p.m. and 3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Please do not use P.O. Box in the address this may delay delivery and cause the letter/package to go into the Lexington City mail distribution.

The Military Store provides quality service, quality uniforms, quality uniform accessories, and other ancillary items to the VMI Corps of Cadets in a timely manner so as to support the VMI educational and leadership missions.
Complimentary to this service is the initial issue of US Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps uniforms to faculty and staff members as well as management of the faculty/staff allotment program.

The VMI Tailor Shop provides specialized tailoring services in a timely manner to the Corps of Cadets, faculty and staff at VMI. By maintaining the appearance of the uniform, the VMI Tailor Shop aims to keep the Corps of Cadets, faculty, and staff looking their best.

- Tie your laundry bag properly before throwing it out. As many as 25% of the bags are popping open on the laundry trucks. If your garments don't have your laundry number on them and they become separated from your bag, then they end up in the Laundry's Lost and Found on the second floor of Richardson Hall (one floor below the pick-up rooms).
- When authorized a replacement garment for one that's no longer serviceable, pick it up in a timely manner. Authorizations have an expiration date ( usually one week after issuance), and if they are not picked up in a timely manner, a "failure to comply" bone will be issued. Most of these garments must be turned in at graduation and if they are missing at that time, you will be billed for them.
- Don't loan out (or allow others to borrow) your uniforms. A BR who asks to borrow uniform items is not properly maintaining his/her own uniforms. By loaning your uniforms out, you'll probably end up short yourself!
- Exchange ill-fitting uniforms promptly. Don't keep wearing them until they become unserviceable. You can expect restriction on alterations of blouses and coatees until all new cadet uniforms are finished, but pants and shirts can be exchanged as soon as fit problems are noticed. You will probably have a bit of a wait at the beginning of the year due to the number of cadets who change sizes over the summer, so allow enough time for your fittings.
- Email Colonel David Williams, your uniform customer service representative, if your uniforms don't come back within one week of turning them into the laundry. Cadets occasionally pick up the wrong uniforms from the Laundry, and cadets with adjacent pick-up spots will be e-mailed to check their wall lockers.
- Inventory your uniforms promptly after returning to school. Requests for replacements for "summer shortages" must be submitted to Colonel David Williams by 15 September. After that, you will be told to "replace at your own expense."
