The best way to get to know VMI is to visit. You may visit on your own, schedule time to talk with our admissions counselors, come as part of a group, or stay overnight at an Open House.
Open House Visits allow high school seniors and juniors to sleep in barracks, eat in the mess hall, and talk with faculty, admission counselors, and cadets.
Personal interviews are a good opportunity to speak one-on-one with an admissions counselor and learn more about VMI.
High school guidance counselors are encouraged to bring college-bound students to visit VMI. Visits typically include a tour of the post, admissions overview, optional lunch, and an afternoon parade.
Daily Tours of Post
Cadet-guided tours are offered daily (dependent on cadet availability) at noon, departing from the VMI Museum. Cadet guided tours are not available during school breaks. Call 540-464-7334 for more information.
