Financial Aid

Virginia Military Institute considers its financial aid program an investment in its cadets' futures and works to provide assistance to students who without such aid would be unable to attend and provide aid to cadets with superior academic abilities.

To be considered for financial aid at VMI, students must complete both the VMI Financial Aid application and the FAFSA, for each year of enrollment.  VMI offers need-based scholarships, grants, and loans based on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) results.

Merit-based scholarships are administered by the Dean’s Office and have different deadlines. Contact Col. Rob McDonald, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, mcdonaldrl@vmi.edu, (540)464-7212 for more information.
